What format are the photos in?
All FotoLibrary photos are in JPG format.
Do you add photos on a regular basis?
Yes. We are constantly adding new photographs. (pretty much every day,
in fact!) Click on "Newest Photos"
to see the latest photos that we have posted, and come back often to
check out the latest additions! Let us know what you want added - we
will endeavour to get them there!
Can I submit photos to sell?
Yes, you can submit your images
to FotoLibrary for sale on this website. However, we only
accept images that we consider to be in keeping with our standard, and
within our content criteria. For that reason, we invite you to register
as a contributing photographer (click here to register) , and
upload
your images - as many and as often as you wish. We will pick the ones
we want as part of our collection, and they will then be
available for download by clients. We sell your images on a commission
basis. We do not "judge" your photographs, and they are not "accepted"
and more importantly the ones we don't use are not "rejected", but
rather they are just not what we are looking for. Sometimes, very high
quality images are not chosen simply because they don't fit
our "wants" list. Photographers can obtain more information here...
Do you offer refunds?
Once your purchase is made we can not offer a refund.
The reason for this policy is because we offer full access to our
entire digital collection of photos and, as such, there is no way for
our products to be returned.
Are there any restrictions on my use of the FotoLibrary photos that I download?
Yes. While FotoLibrary offers great freedoms and a
wide ranges of uses, we do not allow the redistribution of our photos,
or allow the use of our photos within products that are mass
distributed in any type of archive format without special arrangements.
Basically, you can use them for your own purposes, but you cannot use
them for any purpose that can be deemed re-selling of the images,
without special arrangements being made (click here).
For
example, you cannot purchase a photo and then make postcards or posters
etc. for re-sale. You can , however purchase a photo and print posters
to promote your company or it's products. If you have any
questions regarding the use of photos or want to arrange other uses,
including re-sale rights or purchase exclusive full rights to an
image, contact us
here. As a general rule of thumb, you can use the images for
any purpose you choose (eg. advertising, TV ads, on your website, your
brochures, make a print and put it on your wall, etc), but we don't
allow volume reproduction and re-selling of the image for
profit. Also, it is not permissable to submit the image to another
organisation for storage eg. another stock library, competition etc.
If I subscribe are there any other
fees I will encounter when downloading from the site?
No, if you join/subscribe using our free subscription page, you
are not asked to pay for anything except the purchase price of any
images you may want to download. The only exception
is if you wish to use the image(s) for the purposes of re-sale (eg
postcards etc) , or if you want to buy an image exclusively, for which
special arrangements can be made. Contact us to
make these arrangements, or for more information.
Is account sharing allowed?
No, sharing an account is no different to distributing
our materials to others. Individual accounts must be purchased by your
friends and colleagues. Each separate user of images must
purchase images separately.
I bought a subscription, but it says I'm not
activated, what do I do?
On rare occasions our merchant processors may not send
the information of your transaction to our system, so your account may
not be automatically activated. Therefore, if you have made a purchase
of our subscription and you are not able to access photos
from FotoLibrary using your details, send a support
request. I am using an Apple Mac computer, does this site work OK? Yes,
Macs are totally compatible. We recommend using Safari or Camino as your browser. In fact, FotoLibrary is made on a Mac!
